The Lady of The Rings

Everything started in San Salvador just after the independence of The Federal Republic of Central America between 1823 and 1841. Numerous children started to disappear without a trace.

Many citizens of El Salvador attributed these evil acts to a woman who wore white clothes. She had an indescribable face and wore many rings in her hands. Some of them had skulls, while other ones were impossible to describe.

However, there is only one story fully documented by Juan’s family. Unfortunately, Juan became mad after he saw the Lady of the Rings, face-to-face, at least twice. His story is as follows.

One afternoon Juan was going to his work as a carpenter in 4th Western Street. He had a very tiring work in the government to provide all that they needed for the wars with the Mexican Empire.

After his work, he returned home and noticed that this night was extremely hot, perhaps 35 degrees Celsius. His wife was reading a book, and when he entered, she gave him a kiss. They spoke for a while and decided to let their child play on the edge of the window. In those days, Central America was a safe place to live, and there was nothing to be worried about.

Minutes passed, and with a heaviness of sleep, Juan began to nod and looked towards the window, where his child was playing when he saw the rings of the Lady of the Rings (figure 1).

All legends say she possesses 10 magic and hypnotic rings, some of them with skulls, other ones with rubies. Nevertheless, one thing is unique and has an unknown power!

Juan couldn’t describe his feelings at that moment because he was trembling like a chicken. However, he shook himself, rubbing his eyes and seeing again, but there was nothing left in his window. Then he thought: “I’m just having hallucinations after a tiring day at work,” and fell asleep again.

After a few minutes, he woke up and saw the woman again, next to his son, smiling at him. At this moment, the rings powers had paralyzed him without being able to speak, but after many attempts, he was able to run. He took his child to the room where the wife was. He told her that he had seen the Lady of the Rings. The couple couldn’t sleep for many weeks.

A couple of months later, he was riding his horse to his work when he saw the same Lady at the entry of his woodwork. She was standing like a statue with her 10 hypnotic rings, but he ignored her and continued his work.

At the end of the day, when he was coming back, the Lady was still standing there. However, this time she was laughing out loud because this time, she had Juan's child in her hands and vanished in front of his eyes. He rode his horse as fast as he could, and when he arrived at his house, he asked his wife: “Where is our child?” and she answered: “Juan, what’s happening with you? Who are you talking about? We don’t have any child.”

Juan heard an evil laugh on the street. He went out and saw for the last time his child in the hands of the Lady of the Rings. From that day, Juan did not align his ideas very well. He went mad because he had lost his child and could have done something to stop her, and everyone else forgot he had ever had a child.

You might be wondering, why is Lady of the Rings doing all of these evil acts? From our understanding. She is a ghost who is chasing irresponsible parents to take their children to the beyond. She is constantly walking all around Central America. Therefore, the next time that you consider don’t take care of your children, just remember what happened to Juan because you could be the next one!
