Many moons ago, in an ancient Maya city called Cihuatán (in Nawat), there was an attractive woman called Cozumel. Everyone knew her in all cities and towns around Cihuatán. All men were attracted to her because of her incredible smile, and black eyes that felt like you were diving into the deepest part of the ocean. Her hair was long and black, and when any man spoke to her, he melted because her voice was so sweet and soft no one could resist. Plus, she had a fantastic body that seemed surreal everyone loved her (figure 1). Some people add that she was a woman of very humble origins. Her father was a carpenter and her mother a midwife. They didn’t possess anything that anyone could envy. Figure 1. Cozumel. ¹ One day, she traveled to one of the most prominent temples: Tazumal. Many years ago, there were two kings in some faraway lands, a king and a vice king. They were married to extremely beautiful women. One day, they decided to go out for a short trip just to appreciate their treasures and lands. The king asked the vice king: “What are they going to do with all their treasures and money?” Firstly, they thought of their wives, but they agreed they wanted to have a family that could enjoy all their wealth. A couple of days later, they decided to visit the Sage Salomón. On a Monday, they packed and said goodbye to their wives. Both kings commenced their journey in the challenging forests where many people said the sage lived. On an extremely hot summer day, they saw a shadow near a seaport and followed it. They noted an old man entering a very small hut and asked him if he knew the Sage Salomón. The old man asked them: “Why do you want to speak with him?” They told him their story, and he answered them he was that Sage, but he didn’t understand the...

Long ago, there was a terrible war in the lands of Cuzcatlan. On it, Hoitzi and the Pipil people were fighting with Atlacatl and his group. No one knows the precise reasons behind it, but the results were catastrophic. After several months and uncountable causalities, the unthinkable happened. Hoitzi died, and when Princess Naba discovered her beloved was defeated and his body was lying down on the battlefield, she ran away to collect it. She took advantage that the King and his warriors were celebrating their triumph over the Pipil people. Throughout the night, Naba and her six maidens dedicated all their time to serving the wounded and comforting those who only waited for their imminent death. At midnight, some spies warned Atlacatl  what the princess was doing. The King enraged, and still, under the effects of chicha (a special alcoholic drink) went to face her. He wanted to demand explanations about her acts, but he saw what she was doing. She was next to Hoitzi’s dead bo...
